Official Comment On Xenosaga's Length

Many people are worried about Xenosaga's length. At first the word was that Episode I will be about 30 hours long which made many Xeno fans worried ... i personally think 40-50 hours is a perfect length. It took me 90 hours to pass XG the first time I played it and I dont regret that 90 hours at all ... but I dont really mind if a game is a bit shorter then that ... 30 hours was too short for me tho ... yesterday I saw this on IGN ... i'll just copy and paster it

"In an interview recently conducted with Dengeki Online, the online arm of the Dengeki magazine series in Japan, Xenosaga producer and Monolith Soft head honcho Tetsuya Takahashi had a few pithy comments to make about his upcoming epic RPG. According to Takahashi, the game is essentially done (99-100%), and is ready to go in for mastering to meet its February release in Japan. When asked about the amount of playtime contained in the game, he jokingly remarked that the staff can barely tell anymore, since they've played it so much, but 40 hours would be a good ballpark figure.

On the subject of music, Takahashi noted that composer Yasunori Mitsuda was heavily influenced by Gregorian chant (as you can tell from the tunes included in the latest trailer movies, available now in our preview). This was apparently a technical as well as aesthetic solution, since he thought it provided an alternative to the sounds of earlier RPGs while still working well in a situation where music had to be looped.

To check out the whole interview (in Japanese, naturally, but some of you might be able to get something out of it), head directly here. Meanwhile, look forward to more Xenosaga coverage as its release next month approaches."

Once again i suggest you use altavista's bable fish to translate the interview.
