About Monolith

Many of you might have wondered who and what Monolith Soft is and whatever happened to Squaresoft making this game. Well this is where we explain what happed.

As most of you should know Xenogears was a PSone game which was developed by the makers of the all popular Final Fantasy series, Squaresft.

Square released Xenogears in 1997 (I think) and the game became a big hit in Japan as well as US.

Later on most of the Squaresoft employees who worked on Xenogears left and decided to form their own company called Monolith Soft. I don't really know why but Monolith belongs to Namco now ... which is a really good thing considering that Namco is one of the best game developers around and has heaps of equipment and help that Monolith can use to develop Xenosaga, as they already did.
