Xenosaga: Episode I by jacob

OK ,,, in case you're wondering why i havent updated for so long (if anyones even reading this ... acctually ive been getting quite a few visitors lately :) so im happy) there is only 20m.com to blame ... since i have had my account for some time they took my privalages of me which i have to pay for now :( which im not going to. This includes checking my stats (so i have no idea where all the people are comming from except for altavista.com) and i cant conect to my ftp server anymore ... and its annoying to upload files thru 20m's file manager. So this is the only reason ... and because im lazy :) ... BTW if you wish to give me money to hostg my own .com so i update more regularly thn you're more then wecome to ... ??? ... ... ... ... ... no?

JAPANESE RELEASE CONFIRMED

Did i ever post this ??? Episode I release was pushed back in japan from December 2000 to Fabruary 2001 ... the official release date is 28th Fabruary 2001

Pal Release Announced !!!

Well ... I hope it's official enough ...

In my last update I talked about Xenosaga being confirmed for PAL release in the official UK PS2 Magazine (xmas edition). Well I finally got my hands on a scanned image of the very page where it was confirmed (all credit goes to ff_cid of IGN Boards ... thanx again).

The pic says it all ... i had to resize it a bit since it was over 500kbs but you can still read it and thats all you need.

Official Website Opened !!!

Monolith Soft finally opened the official Xenosaga website ... it is in japanese but a lot of interesting stuff can be found there ... speccialy in the NEWS section. You can use Altavista.com bablefish (translator) to translate the page to english.

Some good stuff I could find there, include:

- Xenosaga competition which looks like is only for Japan

- Mini Game, batteling pictures

- Heaps of character info

- Official Box Art (just a logo ... like PAL FF games, still looks good tho)

No More 2 DVDs For Xenosaga ...

It has been announced (also on the official site) that Xenosaga will not ship on 2 single layer dvds as it was planned but instead Monolith will use 1 Dual Layer DVD (which i believe is 9 gigs). Xenosaga will be the first game to use this technology on PS2.

I thought it was kinda cool to have a 2 DVD game but 1 DVD has its good sides too ... no more disc changing ... yeah thats it :)

The good thing is that NOTHING has been changed in the game even tho the format is differnt... nothing changed and nothing taken out ... so it's all good!

If you actually tried to vote for a poll lately you would have noticed that you can't. Once again ... FREEpolls.com (or FREEtools.com) decided to make their FREEpools not so FREE anymore ... so there ... its probaly just a matter of time before 20m will make me pay for their hosting or secrease my usage to 1 meg.

Music Single To Be Released ... yes you quessed it ... IN JAPAN

Very soon (forgot the release date) Japan should be getting a music single from Xenosaga which will include Kokoro (i think its the song from the TGS 2001 trailer) by Joanne Hogg (this can be downloaded thru peer share programs ... its called 'The World I Feel' i think theyre the same songs ... i suggest using WinMX). She also sang to XG. The cd will also include Pain (i think ???) and a few different versions of each (from what i remember). For more info check the official site. Kokoro CD Cover

I May be getting my hands on Japanese Xenosaga !!!

Well this is something I'm very excited about !!! Soon i should be getting a PS2 modchip (messiah) and hopefully it will work PROPERLY ... anyway .. if i do get it there will be a good chance that ill also get to play Xenosaga. I no a shop where i can either buy an import or HOPEFULLY a backup (but i doubt they have a DVD burner where i wanna get it). I really doubt im gonna spend well over $100AUS to buy a Japanese game (which im not planning to pass in Japanese), and the chances of burning a DVD arent very good so the only choice ill be left with is to beg the guy to let me borrow the game for a weekend for $20 or so. If that works ill be very happy!!! ... or maybe a dvd rip would be an option ??? ... anyway i hope i can get it somehow and then after playing it 1000x i will post some impressions. Wish me luck !!!

If I Can Remember Something else I'll post it later ... but i think i got everything i wanted to post now. Dont think there are any new INTERESTING videos either ... no good XENO downloads for now ... but ill leave you with a nice video of FATAL FRAME ... this is sure to be the scariest game yet IMO... scarier then SH??? yes ... watch it at night and you should get a bit scared ... :-)
